Young athletes from Italy, Croatia, Slovenia and Bulgaria will soon test their skills in the Balkan Open parkour tournament. This event is organised under the Erasmus+ Sport project URBANLeap, which aims to make parkour safe, welcoming and accessible for young people across Southeast Europe.

The competition will take place on 21 September 2025 in North Park, Sofia. Participants will compete in speed and freestyle disciplines in three categories: men, women and children under 18. Alongside the tournament, the final round of Bulgaria’s national parkour championship will be held as part of the Urban Zone 2025 programme, organised with the support of Sofia’s sport foundation, Street Workout Bulgaria and the Bulgarian Gymnastics Federation.

URBANLeap’s mission goes beyond competitions. The project develops standardised educational resources, runs events that encourage community participation and promotes parkour as a positive outlet for physical and social development. In Bulgaria the initiative is led by GK Brezovica and head coach Luka Tuđan, working with partners ASD KRAP (Italy), the Gymnastics Federation of Šibenik–Knin County (Croatia), Street Workout Bulgaria, the Croatian Gymnastics Federation and the Research Center Koper (Slovenia).

We invite all interested athletes and fans to join us in Sofia for a weekend of athletic excellence and community spirit. Follow URBANLeap on Instagram and Facebook for news, updates and highlights.
